About ATSI
ATSI exists to provide end-to-end natural resources compliance management. In this work the company upholds just labor practices, defends the rights of workers, and creates space where individuals can exercise their God-given talents through honest and creative effort.
As founders, we seek to order this enterprise according to the Gospel, so that through competent service to the common good and responsible stewardship of creation, every person involved may encounter respect for their inherent worth as made in the image of God. Work, for those who freely embrace it, becomes a participation in God’s creative plan and a path of personal sanctification.
In short, we believe work was made for us, not us for work.
We expect each individual’s personal mission to be overlapping enough with our mission to find their work at ATSI personally meaningful.
Concretely that means we measure and aim to increase the following metrics:
- % of employees who report one personal financial milestone (Quarterly).
- % of employees who Get Straight Talk, Feel Valued, Feel Supported, and Enjoy Working Here (Quarterly)
- Good Work Coverage (%) (quarterly)
- Homes & Futures Service Moments
- # of Wild field Moments (quarterly)
These are called our Mission Key Preforming Indexes (MKPIs)
Our Financial KPIs (FKPIs) are as following
- EBITA per billable hour
- profit per project
- UT rate
This is an internally expressed, not external, mission. There will never be a faith test for hiring, firing, nor for promotions. You will not be expected to share this mission with others.
Role Overview
The Marketing & Sales Intern is a part-time summer internship role focused on generating new business opportunities through jurisdictional awareness, landowner outreach, and early-stage risk identification.
You will act as an early signal finder for the company—tracking public decision-making processes, identifying land-based opportunities, and initiating outreach that feeds into ATSI’s project pipeline.
This role requires initiative, consistency, and comfort operating with minimal structure. Hours are variable and often tied to public meetings and outreach timing.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Opportunity Identification (Primary)
- Identify new opportunities at the jurisdictional level (policy changes, development signals, council actions)
- Surface and track potential projects for ATSI engagement
- Continuously generate and log new “risk snapshot” opportunities
- Take sale calls and put them into our internal Asana system
Jurisdictional Monitoring & Market Intelligence (Primary)
- Attend city and county council meetings across Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan, Island, and Snohomish counties
- Create and maintain a full schedule of relevant public meetings
- Extract key insights, decisions, and signals that may lead to business opportunities
Risk Snapshot Drafting (Primary)
- Deliver initial risk snapshot drafts within two business days of assignment
- Organize findings into clear, actionable summaries using company templates
- Support early-stage evaluation of potential projects
Landowner Outreach & Lead Development (Secondary)
- Call raw land listings across the five-county region
- Engage landowners or representatives to understand intent and potential needs
- Capture insights and qualify leads for further follow-up
Sales Call Support & Intake (Primary)
- Take inbound and scheduled sales calls as needed
- Gather key information from prospective clients and opportunities
- Document call outcomes, qualify leads, and route them appropriately
- Represent ATSI professionally and clearly in early-stage client interactions
Training and Support
- Direct, hands-on training provided by the hiring manager and executive administrative assistant.
- You will be trained on:
- Identifying jurisdictional and policy-driven opportunities
- Conducting raw land outreach calls
- Drafting risk snapshots to ATSI standards
- Expect iterative feedback and rapid skill development in real-world scenarios
Work Conditions and Expectations
- Part-time with irregular and non-standard hours, including evenings (for council meetings)
- Mix of independent work, phone outreach, and in-person attendance
- You are expected to own your schedule, follow through consistently, and deliver on deadlines
- Fast turnaround expectations (e.g., 2-business-day draft delivery)
- This is a self-directed, output-focused role, not a heavily managed position
Compensation
- $19.13 per hour
- Part-time role
Growth Path
- This role provides direct exposure to business development, land use processes and early-stage consulting work. Strong performers can grow into sales, project development, or consulting support within ATSI.
